Dates and a little ghost story

Hi All,

We have a few dates to get out of the way which will also bring a little information as they are pretty interesting dates.

Tuesday March 17th is St. Patrick’s Day!  Ah the luck of the Irish is upon us all. We all know to wear green or you could be pinched. Some fun facts about this day. So we all know that St. Patrick was the saint that chased the snakes out of Ireland, or so the story goes. But did you know that St. Patrick was born in Britain and taken as a child to be a slave for 10 years. He escaped and became a monk who then went to Ireland to teach the people about Christianity. It is believed the chasing of the snakes is a symbol of his converting the Pagans to Christianity. St. Patrick used the shamrock to teach the trinity. People wore shamrocks on March 17th, the anniversary of his death. It later turned into wearing the color green. Blue was the original color associated with St. Patrick. And here is my Wisconsin tidbit:  New London, Wisconsin has a Shamrock Club and every year they change the highway sign so that the town name reads New Dublin. I think I need a road trip to check this out. Any reader out there from New London, who could post a picture of the name change in the comments?  LOL

Wednesday March 18th begins the Celtic Tree month of Alder. The month will end April 14th. Alder can help you come to terms with things you have been avoiding. Alder is believed to help one gain access to the faery realms. Do you have anxiety?  Alder can help you relax. During this month express your hopes and dreams. Forgive your angers of the past and be accepting of yourself and others. A mouth wash made from the leaves and bark will cure the mouth of ulcers. Alder oil relieves muscle stiffness.

Friday March 20th is Ostara or the Spring Equinox. It is also the new moon. Time to do your ritual for releasing the energy that no longer serves your highest good!

Ostara/Spring Equinox the day of perfect balance. The day that marks the coming of the spring and fertility of the land. This is the day the sun god begins his journey across the sky. His power peaks in June during the Summer Solstice. This is the season for fertility and growth.

Ostara was the German Goddess of Spring; on this day she was honored and traditionally given offerings of cakes, colored eggs, and the rabbit was a sign of the goddess. It was believed she could transform into a rabbit.

Friday enjoy equal night and day hours and honor that fertility and new beginnings of spring and the warmth to come our way.

This week not much to write about since it took a while to go over all of the dates.

Here’s a short ghost story:  I was in downtown Minneapolis this weekend and had the opportunity to go into a beautiful little restaurant and cafĂ© to get a mocha. The building has a history and is down by the grain belt building just off the river. While inside I was waiting for my mocha, I felt a child run past me and looked around for the little one. Then standing there taking in the decorations and such, I felt a man behind me and then a whisper in my ear. The friend I was with said the building dated back to the 20’s, maybe older. Well that explained it, the reason why I was being talked to. The person talking to me was somehow connected to the mob activities of the cities back in the day. I knew this from the vocabulary he used and the name “doll face”, that went back to the trip I had years ago on the mob tour through the Wabasha Street Caves in St. Paul. It was funny because my friend asked, “Well can’t you just turn it off?”  No I can’t, but I could shield from it all if I could just remember to do so when I go out. LOL.

But then would it be so interesting when I go out?

Have a great week all, keep practicing your meditation.

Blessings All,
Wendy

Let’s talk 6th Sense

Hi All,

Let’s talk 6th sense today. I am always telling people what I do isn’t a gift reserved for a select few. Everyone has the ability to communicate or get information from the other side. Those of you that have been reading the blog for a while, or have seen me at an expo know my saying of:  “We can all do this, just like we can all throw a football. Some of us have to practice hard and will never be at the level of Aaron Rogers and some of us it will just be easy.”

So okay let’s dig. What is the 6th sense? The 6th sense is that feeling you get when something is not right. It’s the gut feeling or the hairs on the back of your neck raising. It’s knowing something is there when your eyes aren’t seeing it. It is your intuition.

On and off throughout the years of writing this blog and then the Mystic Monday the Book, we have discussed ways of improving this sense and discovering how it works in you.

Meditation is the key to developing this sense. You have to first figure out how you best meditate to be able to quiet your mind so you can pick up on the information you are receiving. This is something you need to find out for yourself. You may be able to sit and play music to clear your brain of all activity so you can ask a question to receive an answer. You might have to busy your body so your brain can disengage. Things like walking the treadmill or cleaning the house, something mind numbing where you can do the activity but your brain checks out.

After you develop this skill it’s time to start building a trust with the inner voice of your guides, angels, or higher self. You do this by asking simple questions and getting answers and then finding out if those answers are valid. Start small.

After all this you branch out and figure out where you are the strongest. For me it’s always been healing and communicating with the other-side.

When you know your area then start to study up on it and then practice, practice, practice. Use your family, pets, friends as your practice group once you’ve tried on yourself. Many of my intuitive friends have a hard time reading accurately for themselves and this holds true for me. I also have a hard time reading for someone who is close to me in which I hold an emotional tie to what it is they are asking. It is our (mine and my friend’s) belief that if you are too close to the situation you are asking about you may have a difficult time reading accurately. Healings go the same. I have my own practitioner I go to for healings because I focus better with someone walking me through it.

My advice to start developing your 6th sense is use it to point you in the right direction of where to start, or what information you are seeking. Do some research and go with what you feel is for you. What are you drawn to? Then take some classes, read some books, find a group of like-minded people to get together with.

Have an amazing week!

Wendy

Nemeton Energy System ~ part 2

When Wendy asked for my help with the system that would become Nemeton Energy Reiki and then evolve into Nemeton Energy System I was really inspired to work.

Tree energies have always resonated with me and given that I live in Shropshire in the UK a former Druid domain it was lovely to work with the Groves.  During my research I was introduced to the Goddess Nemetona, she being the Goddess of Sacred Spaces, and Groves. These Nemetons, sacred groves and spaces exist everywhere and in every culture, we each have a personal Nemeton inside us. That sacred quite part of our Spirit into which we retreat when seeking sanctuary from the concerns of life.

Trees have enormous energy which we may with permission draw from. Each tree has a different signature and also governs a particular month in the Celtic Tree calendar. My own personal favourite is Beith, the Birch, in times past Beith was decorated with ribbons of red and white on Midsummer Day to deter witches. Birch brooms were used to cleanse old energies and negativity from homes ready to receive the New Year. Birch rods were traditionally used to “flog” wrong doers in the belief that their wicked ways would be cleansed.

The Beltane Maypole was also usually a birch pole, for its links to fertility.

The Nemeton Energy Facebook page is kept updated with a tree of the Month, we are currently under the energy of the Ash, also called Nion in the Celtic Calendar. In Norse mythology Ash is the World Tree Yggdrasil, mystical and associated with healing.  Ash is seen as the Feminine balance of the Oak tree.

What tree are you particularly drawn to? If you cannot go out into nature to sit beneath your totem tree then find a quiet space in which to meditate on the image, feel your roots sinking deep into Mother Earth, sense your branches reach up for the sunlight and allow your spirit to become one with the energy, if you are able to go outdoors, sit back against the trunk and ask permission to join your energy with your tree, feel the sap flow, the leaves draw in energy from the sun and the roots taking up water and nutrients from the soil. You will feel the strength and wisdom of the trees spirit and perhaps guidance on your sacred journey. Always offer thanks to your tree spirit before breaking your energetic link.

I like to leave a “cloutie” a piece of cloth or ribbon which is tied to the tree, it can be your prayer and a gift to the tree for sharing its energy and wisdom. Many sacred springs and wells have cloutie trees close by, and at Chalice Well Garden in Glastonbury such ribbons are frequently left on the trees.

I have trees in my own garden and when I want to leave a prayer for someone I write it on a ribbon and tie it to my apple tree and ask that the prayer be sent on the wind, it’s something akin to a Tibetan prayer flag.

Dates for this week:
Thursday the 5th is the full moon. Time to manifest what you would like to bring into your life, and raise your vibrations to match it.

This week we are doing a two part blog. One of my very best girlfriends is writing the second half of this blog. Vicky has been teaching the Nemeton Energy System over in England where it is going great guns. She has done an amazing write up for you that will post tomorrow about using tree energy in energy sessions.

Nemeton Energy System and working with tree or earth based energies.

This topic I could go on about forever. Mother Earth has such amazing energy to offer us. Have you ever taken a walk out in the forest and just become one with your surroundings? What I mean is, have you ever walked a trail and opened your senses to all that is fresh around you? Have you taken a few deep breaths and really just closed your eyes, inhale deeply, and listen to what is going on in nature?  I love walking on the trails and getting out there and just taking in the scent of fresh air and what that smells like and listening to the sounds of the trees and small animals making crunching noise in the underbrush. When you are walking out and about in the woods have you ever felt like you’re not alone? I mean okay, yes there are animals you know are around, but do you ever feel the presence of something else or like you are being watched? Chances are you are in tune to the earth spirits around you.

Trees have energy and a way of getting your attention. This time of year is amazing because here in the Midwest and the places that experience winter, the trees and nature hibernates. Trees shutdown their growth on top with their branches and leaves but grow under the surface were we do not see it. March and April they start to come out of it and we see the sap running and the leaves budding and their energy shifts and becomes stronger.

Now, I’ve always had a strong connection with trees and nature as I grew up more at home in the woods of the U.P. than playing in the yard with friends. I could spend hours alone in a spot in the woods, content under the trees listening to all the life going on around me. Now that I work in the city I find myself retreating a great deal to the conservatory to soak in plant energy. There is just something warm and inviting about sitting in the trees and plants there and you can feel the energy strong when you first sit and then as you give in and let them work their magic with their energy you start to feel amazing and transformed.

Nemeton Energy System came to me while walking the conservatory. Slowly over a week, more and more energies presented themselves and amazing things started to happen. I emailed Vicky and started talking to her about this energy and we started to experiment and work with the energies and incorporate it all into intuitive energy sessions. Both Vicky and I have a connection to the Goddess and with most of the energies coming in being trees we asked for guidance with this system and we were answered by the Goddess Nemetona. Nemetona is a Celtic Goddess who blesses sacred spaces. The Druids welcomed Nemetona as their Goddess of Sacred Groves. When I first channeled this energy it was called a form of Reiki. However, since people have been practicing with the energies it has grown into a system of energies that will help you maintain wellness in your life. When you work with Nemeton Energy System your energy sessions really get this kick and you feel so much more grounded and more sure of where it is you need to be on your path. Many of us that use this system have become more aware of spirit guides in the form of animals, tree spirits, and faeries.

If you are a person who is connected with nature I recommend looking to a Nemeton Energy System session and explore how it can help you become more connected to Mother Earth and all she has to offer.

This May I will be traveling to England where I look forward to meeting the group over there to see some sacred sights and work some Nemeton Energy Shares.

Have an amazing week everyone and don’t forget Thursday to manifest!

Blessings All,
Wendy
